You’re a member of the Liminal Layer Society: an organization of spellcasters who protect the world from entities that leak from the Void. You set out to explore the “Liminal Layer,” which is the bridge between reality and the Void. YOU WILL DIE. A LOT. Death is progress. Death brings you closer to the Void Gods: your primary targets.

Play as one of four selectable characters with their own playstyles and spells, and unlock multiple endings based on who you choose and their companion. It will get dark, chaotic, and confusing.

Collect Sigils

You will need “Sigils” to fight the Void Gods and enemies. They are the currency for your spells and portals to enter the next layer safely. Survival in each layer is determined by your “Death Counter” and your ability to prevent liminal entities from touching you. Dying will automatically send you to the next random layer at the cost of the opportunity to collect more Sigils.

Snatch Souls

Liminal Entities are dangerous and can kill you once they touch you. However, they contain souls that can be used to cast more spells. Snatch them and expand your arsenal of spells. Additionally, soul snatches add more time to your death counter so you can explore and find more sigils.

Cast Spells

To avoid entities from killing you in the layer, you can either soul snatch them or destroy them. Spells are your primary tools of combat, with different types and advantages depending on enemy types. Additionally, more powerful spells cost more sigils.

Kill the Void Gods

Getting to Layer 444 can happen within the spectrum of two ways: do absolutely nothing, keep dying, and enter layer 444 with no sigils to get decimated by the Void Gods OR fight for your life and stockpile sigils so you will have enough ammo to spam spells onto the Void Gods. They have very high health, so be ready for a long fight.
